Event Results

With the restrictions on COVID-19 greatly eased, Center of the International Cooperation for Computerization (CICC) invited keypersons in digital strategies from ASEAN and South Asian governments and other organizations to Japan after four year’s web-based conference. The nine participating countries were Brunei, Cambodia, Lao, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. At the conference, representatives from each country gave presentations on their country's digital strategies, followed by a lively Q&A session and exchange of opinions. We would like to thank all conference participants as well as the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), ASEAN-Japan Centre and the Institute of Digital Government, Waseda University for their support. In addition, this conference was subsidized by JKA through its promotion funds from KEIRIN RACE. We appreciate JKA’s support.

The conference opened with opening remarks by Takahito Tokita, President, CICC, followed by guest address by Mr. Ryota Ishibashi, Deputy Director, IT Industry Division, Commerce and Information Policy Bureau, METI.

Representatives from nine Asian countries introduced their countries' digital strategies, including policies for social and economic digitization and the status of related projects, with an eye toward the with-corona and post-corona worlds, and provided a meaningful exchange of information and opinions with the participants on the current status and initiatives in their countries.

In this invitation program, representatives of each country visited METI, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and Major IT companies to exchange opinions and observe their facilities, thereby promoting mutual understanding and strengthening personal networks.
