"Improvement of Market Information Stimulates Attraction of Business
from Abroad"
In order to promote new business, companies in developed countries, not limited to Japan,
create a business plan and decide on the allocation of investment and human resources
after the settlement of a board meeting.
As a necessary part of business plan preparation, "Return on Investment" (RoI) is
always an important criterion.
ROI is an indicator that shows how much profit the invested money has generated.
The higher the ROI number, the more cost-effective and valuable the investment.
Measuring ROI is important because it quantifies how an investment has paid
off in terms of business profits and allows for an accurate determination
of its effectiveness.
However, I have rarely seen examples of emerging countries that have
developed detailed sector-by-sector marketing data for their countries.
There are many research firms focusing on marketing research not only in
Japan but also in Europe and the United States. This is because research
firms understand that "information" has value and can generate profits as a
commodity. It takes a great deal of effort to develop market information,
but having the right information in the hands of governments and companies
in their own countries supports the right policy and business decisions, and
the right information in the hands of foreign companies in their own
countries support the right policies and business decisions.
In addition, foreign companies seeking correct information will pay for the
value of the information, which will lead to the benefit of their own
country as a "commodity. It may not be easy, but I think it is important for
foreign companies to develop their own market information rather than
entrusting it to research firms in other countries.
I would like to see the development of market information in our own
countries rather than entrusting it to research firms in other countries,
although this may not be easy. I believe that the challenge of creating
higher value-added digital marketing using AI and data mining through
advances in IT technology will be a strength for each country.
